This magical town is in the state of Queretero, about 90 minutes away from SMA. Its main feature is a huge monolithic rock called “Peña de Bernal.” We’ll sketch the colorful Templo de San Sebastian Martir, as well as some of the masks in the Museo de Mascara. We’ll have a sketching lunch in one of the charming restaurants in Centro. Before we head for home, be sure to buy at least one loaf of the local specialty, cheese bread (like a very long Danish.)

Fee: $3500 MX, includes breakfast and round-trip transportation from San Miguel in a comfortable van with our bilingual driver, Pancho. Also, a supplies kit and personalized instruction in “Sketching Fast & Loose.”

Advance deposit of $1500 MX requested, balance payable in pesos when we meet. My prior students / attendees on previous trips get a discount of $500 MX.

“…Not only is Rhoda a talented artist and sketcher, she is a gifted teacher…

… She has a unique way of breaking the art of drawing into bite sized understandable pieces, and encouraging students to practice new ways to take their drawing to new levels…all in fast and fun ways! As a beginner… I was surprised at how much I learned in just a few hours… The class was a highlight of my trip to San Miguel.”
